What to see in Ventspils? Attractions and activities in 3 days

We spent three days in Ventspils - during that time we walked as much as 48 kilometers on foot! This Latvian seaside resort invites you to walk: it is tidy, green, full of flower beds, sculptures, and peaceful walking paths.

The most interesting activity - the “cow hunt”. There are 24 colorful cows in the city, created during the artistic project “Cow Parade”. Each one is different: decorated with flowers, dressed as a sailor, carrying suitcases.

We managed to find only 12 cows, but the process itself turned into a fun and even exciting task while exploring parks and walking trails. Such attractions are not only entertaining but also enrich the Latvia map with attractions.

Ventspils is a true paradise for children. There are plenty of activities for the whole family:

• Children’s Town - a free play area with more than 40 installations, trampolines, and even a small café “Pepija”.
• Adventure Park “Lemberga hūte” - offers rope courses, trampolines, catapults, electric cars, and in winter - skiing and a snow park. It is one of the most popular family attractions in Ventspils.

It’s pleasant to walk around Ostgals Old Town - narrow cobbled streets, blooming balconies, and small houses create a special charm.

• Livonian Order Castle - tells the story of the city.
• South Pier - with a viewing tower and the giant “Cow Sailor”.
